Olivia meets Rupert at Heathrow. He limps now; she says nothing.

He dozes off in the car, having spoken only a few vague pleasantries; she drives in silence.

He tells her over dinner that he watched Sunnydale crumble into sand around him; she makes a neutral, impressed noise and swallows more wine.

She wakes later, alone, and debates with herself before getting up and finding him, wide awake, on the sofa. He smiles distractedly as she sits beside him and wraps her hands around his scarred one.

She says, "I missed you." He kisses her, and Olivia tastes the desert.

End.
